SALARY: $65,000 - $85,000

REPORTS TO:
Executive Director of Operations

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and Implement Safety Procedures and Practices:
    • Create and reviewing emergency plans
    • Conduct regular shelter in place and active threat drills
    • Conduct safety audits
    • Ensure school and district compliance with required drilling
    • Maintain and train on the use of Raptor
    • Maintain and train on the use of Crisis Go
    • Support creation and maintenance of safety policies and procedures
  • Student handbook
  • District policies
  • Conduct Safety Training:
    • Train staff on topics
  • Active threat procedures
  • Evacuation procedures
  • Reunification procedures
  • Investigating Accidents and Incidents Pertaining to Student Safety:
    • Gather information
    • Interview witnesses
    • Prepare summary reports
  • Coordinate Emergency Planning Committees:
    • Assist in the planning and facilitation of the district Emergency Preparation Advisory Committee (EPAC)
    • Participate in safety meetings organized by local agencies
  • Promote a Culture of Safety:
    • Send safety messages to staff and students
    • Recognize and rewarding safe behavior
    • Manage safety materials on district website
  • Building-Specific Safety:
    • Assess the security of building entrances and exits
  • Transportation Safety:
    • Conduct bus driver safety training specific to threats of violence
  • Technology Safety:
    • Implement and enforce safe internet & social media use in conjunction with the building leader
    • Support student online activity for potential safety concerns
    • Maintain and support district anonymous reporting system
  • Student Safety:
    • Develop and implement programs to prevent bullying, harassment, and violence
    • Work with school counselors and social workers to address student mental health concerns
    • Investigate reports of student misconduct that may pose a safety risk
    • Promote a positive and inclusive school climate
