Job Summary To report to the Practice Manager, the purpose of this job is to handle time-consuming clerical responsibilities for physicians during office based patient encounters. Scribes accompany a physician and directly observe patient encounters. They accurately document the events and decision-making in a manner that results in appropriate medical charting. Scribes also complete clerical activities necessary to assist with processing of physician orders for tests and medications. The intent of this position is to perform time-consuming clerical duties that otherwise would be assigned to a physician enabling the physician to spend more time with individual patients and increase the overall flow of patients in the practice.Accountabilities
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements High School diploma or GED. Completion of an Accredited Medical Assistant Program is preferred. No previous experience required. 1 year of experience is preferred. Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses Job Related Certification from one of the following: CMA (AAMA); RMA (AMT); CCMA(NHA); NCMA (NCCT); RMA (ARMA); NRCMA (NAHP); or RMA (AAMP) In Lieu Of The Above Minimum Requirements Team members employed in this job prior to July 1, 2020 are grandfathered under prior educational and experience requirements. In addition, team members must be certification eligible and will have one year to obtain required certification. Other Required Skills and Experience
