The Materials Handler will receive and process incoming shipments, goods and equipment for delivery. Deliver, inventory, organize and restock inventory sites and patient care areas containing medical and non-medical supplies, linen and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provide coverage of team members during time off for multiple locations within the First Hill area
  • Maintain optimum inventory of supplies and linen
  • Review, requisition, and maintain supplies required to meet anticipated needs, at numerous physical locations
  • Regularly distribute supplies resupply process and/or departmental schedules
  • Regularly pick up and deliver reusable instruments and supplies based on established schedule
  • Maintain adequate and accurate record keeping
  • Maintain clean, organized and effective work areas
  • Function as a team member of the Materials Management department
  • Physically receive and check daily shipments from numerous carriers.
  • Examine and unpack incoming shipments, matching against Purchase Orders
  • Record, investigate and resolution of shipment errors as needed
  • Input, record and process data within our Great Plains and Kwiktag systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • High School, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in shipping/receiving and working with patient care supplies and equipment preferred, either in a central supply, surgery, or patient care area
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License



Preferred Qualifications:



  • Proven understanding of the use/purpose of the supplies and equipment is highly desirable
  • Experience using Word and Excel software to advanced levels that includes mail merge and database management
  • Demonstrated familiarity with warehouse equipment, including hand tucks and pallet jacks
  • Ability to drive daily on established routes and follow laws and safe driving procedures and practices



Washington Residents Only: The hourly range for this role is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
