Electrical CAD Designer II - Staunton, VA - Hybrid

Daikin Applied is seeking an Electrical CAD Designer II who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Electrical Designer II's will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost has been considered. Location: Hybrid, Staunton, VA or Plymouth, MN

What you will do:



  • Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards
  • Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation
  • Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules
  • Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills.
  • Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness
  • Complete work assignments within the determined time frame and use judgement in determining assignment goals
  • Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of legacy bill of material systems and product structuring logic
  • Be part of and function in a team environment including cross-functional and inter-departmental teams

Minimum Qualifications:



  • Vocational, Technical, or Associate of Applied Science degree in design/drafting
  • 2+ years of related design experience
  • Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Background or knowledge of electrical
  • Experience in sheet metal design and/or HVAC products is desired
  • Experience with AutoCAD/DraftSight, SolidWorks Electrical, Microsoft Visio is a plus

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $59,500 - $90,500 in Virginia or Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
