Printpack, a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging products, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of QA Technician at their Villa Rica 1 facility located in Villa Rica, Georgia.

Must be willing to work any shift, including a 12-hour shift and nights.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
* Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
* Excellent computer skills
* Excellent time management skills are a must
* Ability to work overtime
* Ability to interpret measurement data (measurements and charts).
* Must be able to pass Ishihara color test
* Must be able to pass the Munsell Color Hue test

Internal Candidates:

  • Last performance review must have been "Performer" or better.
  • No disciplinary actions beyond a verbal within the past 120 days
  • Must have been in current position for at least 120 days

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand appropriate test method and equipment to perform all required testing (and sampling) as specified by internal and external customers
  • Perform check-out of each job in Press and Laminating to include specifications, film types, job jacket, etc.
  • Perform visual check on all samples representing material produced on shift
  • Accurately entering data into PRISM for retention and reporting
  • Perform accurate calibration checks of all equipment
  • Responsible for creating hold tags for defective material and ensuring rolls are tagged for proper identification
  • Daily use of the X-rite software and spectrophotometer
  • Maintain department 5S standards including housekeeping and stocking supplies
  • Daily filing of job jackets
  • Fire Crew responsibilities include closing fire doors
  • Being well versed in customer specifications and knowing how to identify structures for comparison to the proper spec
  • Effective communication of results to the Laminating and Press Operators as well as Department Leads
  • Use of PRISM screens to obtain job/production information
