Essential Job Duties
This position is a part-time 20 to 37.5-hour per week position. The position is 100% funded by Henderson County.

Assists all agents in developing program materials, assisting with field days, workshops, demonstrations, and classes.

Assists office staff with greeting clients and providing clients with requested materials.

Provides support to 4-H, FCS and ag programs on a regular basis.

Routine office duties such as answering phones, setting up for meetings and helping with office functions may also be required.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
North Carolina Cooperative Extension gives our residents easy access to the resources and expertise of NC State University and NC A&T State University. Through educational programs, publications, and events, Cooperative Extension field faculty deliver unbiased, research-based information to North Carolina citizens.

Requirements and Preferences


Work Schedule Hours set according to class schedule. Approximately 20 hours/week during school yearwith potential for 37.5 hours/week during the summer.

Minimum Experience/Education
The minimum requirement for employment with the North Carolina Cooperative Extension ( NCCE) is a high-school diploma or equivalent. Advanced training in related fields is preferred.
Department Required Skills
The intern must have the ability to work with broad audiences, connect well with people and be a team player. He/she must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Graduation from high school is required. Working toward a degree related to some aspect of programs which are offered by Extension or related to the clientele and businesses which Extension serves.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Must be a team member dedicated to supporting a positive and creative work environment.

The position requires lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently.

The job also requires sustained periods of standing and sitting and occasional periods of kneeling, stooping and reaching.

The job occasionally requires exposure to extreme heat and humidity and exposure to the sun.

The person must be able to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.

Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The job requires appropriate visual acuity with or without correction and dexterity to perform the normal duties of the job.

Preference will be given to students enrolled at Blue Ridge Community College.
Required License or Certification
Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required and must be maintained. In order to operate a state vehicle, a valid Driver's License is required and must be maintained
