Summary of Job Duties:This will be used to fill multiple positions.

The Surgical Scrub Technicians define their practice through attention to detail, excellence, and outstanding patient care. The role involves assembling supplies, maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments, assisting in room preparation, and coordinating care for optimal patient outcomes. Effective communication and collaboration with clinic providers, fellows, and staff are essential. TOSH emphasizes teamwork, diversity, and a commitment to improving patient care and lives in Arkansas. If you are a Surgical Technician with Operating Room experience, consider joining our dynamic team at The Orthopedic & Spine Hospital. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School GED or formal educational equivalent.

  • Graduate of accredited Scrub Technologist school/program OR surgical scrub tech training through military

  • Ability to follow oral instruction, read, and write

  • 1 year Operating room experience (preferred in Orthopedics)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scrub Tech Certification

  • Orthopedic experience preferred

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures availability of appropriate instrumentation, supplies and equipment for assigned cases.

  • Ensures that the room has been prepared for the upcoming cases, with appropriate equipment available and ready for surgical use.

  • Ensures that the instruments are cleaned arranged and transported to the soiled workroom according to department policy.

  • independently assists with instrument reprocessing tasks when assigned cases are completed and time permits.

  • Ensures that the operating rooms are case-ready for the following day's cases.

  • Exhibits practical knowledge of OR equipment including maintenance and safety aspects.

  • Utilizes available communication tools;

  • Demonstrates teamwork by offering assistance to other team members.

  • Shares knowledge information and expertise with other staff.

  • Attends departmental in-services and other educational offerings.

  • Consistently demonstrates new knowledge and skills through incorporation into actual clinical practice.

  • Willing to learn new techniques.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
