Medical Clerk

Location: FBIHQ, Washington, DC

Duties shall include but are not limited to:

  • Receive visitors and patients, manage sign in procedures, and notify staff upon arrival of patients and appointments.
  • Provide administrative duties, clerical support in the MORU.
  • Utilize organizational and database computer skills to conduct daily tasks.
  • Facilitate incoming calls, respond to inquiries, take messages, and transfer calls.
  • Schedule appointments, follow-up on late or missed appointments.
  • Explain basic screening and examination procedures.
  • Type correspondence, letters, memorandums, and other related documents generated by the management.
  • Prepare envelopes and packages for mailing.
  • Locate and retrieve employee medical files for nurse or physician review.
  • Initiate new employee medical files, prepare files for physical exam.
  • File medical documents and reports.
  • Maintain the clinic appointment book and assist with compilation of monthly statistics.
  • Maintain physical exam list, send out notices to schedule physical exams, and notify the Clinic Supervisor of employees who do not keep appointments.
  • Photocopy, fax, assist with errands, pick up and deliveries.



Education and Experience and Credentialing

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • Minimum Education: Associate degree or equivalent; certification from an accredited medical assisting educational program
  • Must have or be able to attain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance. NOTE: preference will be given to those who possess a current TS
