JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology, is seeking a Research Technologist - Medical Sciences - Intermediate Professional. A full-time research technologist position is immediately available in the Mnatsakanyan lab at the Penn State College of Medicine. This position offers the opportunity to be part of the research team focused on studying cell death pathways in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis. The primary duties and responsibilities include performing experiments, recording and analyzing data, carrying out routine lab ordering and organization. The candidate will have the opportunity to be trained in electrophysiology, membrane protein biochemistry including protein purification for structural and functional studies. The candidate should be familiar with common biological laboratory research techniques, should be self-motivated and willing to learn new research methods and approaches. Experience in protein purification methods, such as SEC and affinity chromatography is a plus. Qualified candidates should have a bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related areas.

This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 4 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$38,300.00 - $55,500.00
