Accounting Manager

A leading industrial manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and team management, with a proven ability to drive financial accuracy and efficiency in a dynamic industry environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry regulations, and company policies.
    • Prepare and review financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  2. General Ledger Management:
    • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts.
    • Review and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions.
  4. Internal Controls:
    • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
    • Conduct periodic audits and assessments to identify and address areas of risk.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Oversee the completion of daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and deadlines.
  6. Accounts Payable/Receivable:
    • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
    • Review and approve transactions, maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships.
  7. Compliance and Tax:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and reporting requirements.
    • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and implement recommendations for improvement.
  8. Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
    • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to continuously refine accounting processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
