Description

JOB PURPOSE: The Clinician uses sound professional judgment and best practices to support the mental health, safety and well-being of every resident in care while maintaining compliance with established state and federal standards and requirements. Conducts mental health assessments and provides ongoing individual and group counseling services, screens for human trafficking concerns, and provides crisis intervention services.



Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support services for general population disaster shelters.
  • Will provide mental health emergency assessments and evaluations.
  • Crisis response, trauma informed care, harm reduction principles, acute mental health de-escalation techniques.
  • Follow public health protocols as appropriate to the community.
  • Provide shelter residents outreach/engagement to ensure stability.
  • Prepare goal-oriented psychosocial diagnostic assessments, service plans and progress reports.
  • Provide case consultations, one-to-one counseling and/or crisis intervention for children, and family counseling for each family represented.
  • Meet all pre-determined deadlines required by program supervisor and federal partners.
  • Maintain a caseload in accordance with agency policies and procedures and licensing and contract standards.
  • Conduct intake interviews and initial assessments.
  • Assess, treat, develop, implement and update therapeutic plans.
  • Provide counseling, crisis management, evaluations and other clinical functions as assigned.
  • Record relevant clinical data and report clinical information as required.
  • Maintain accurate and current records and files.
  • Provide data to support staff regarding admission/discharge of residents.
  • Facilitate continuity of services for children by the clinical department.
  • Meet predetermined deadlines that allow for timely processing and reunification of residents.
  • Assist in discharge planning.
  • Maintain on-call schedule for the support of residents and staff.
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources.
  • Communicate effectively with referral sources and providers.
  • Participate in scheduled meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
  • Participate in workshops, seminars, education programs and activities that promote professional growth and development.
  • Prepare and maintain assigned reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures and applicable licensing and contract standards.
  • Work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or requested by position supervisor.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the service population and program operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Must have a Master's of Social Work with clinical experience in the program; or Master's degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement; or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years clinical employment experience.

EXPERIENCE: Clinician must be licensed LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LPC-I, LMFT-A, or LMSW or eligible for licensure. 2+ year clinical related experience and/or training including experience working in crisis intervention. Proficiency in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills), required. Preferred experience in working with immigrant populations, and child welfare.

CERTIFICATIONS: Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) Core Curriculum Courses.

IS-100.C: Introduction to the Incident Command System, ICS 100

IS-0200.c Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response, ICS 200

IS-700.B: An Introduction to the National Incident Management System

IS-800.D: National Response Framework, An Introduction

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

LICENSES: Driver's License with a clear record.

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice.

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates. Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
