Northwestern Medicine is seeking a nationally recognized leader to direct its Center for Neurovascular Surgery - one of the most expansive neuroendovascular platforms in the country, spanning 11 hospitals including two Comprehensive Stroke Centers (Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Central DuPage Hospital) and six primary stroke centers (Palos Hospital, Lake Forest Hospital, Delnor Hospital, Kishwaukee Hospital, Huntley Hospital, McHenry Hospital).

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to build and lead a system-wide neurovascular program at one of the nation's premier academic medical centers. Based primarily at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, the Director will provide strategic and clinical oversight across all Northwestern Medicine hospitals - one of the largest and most respected healthcare systems in the country. This is a full-time faculty position on the non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator track up to the rank of Professor within the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Responsibilities include setting strategic vision, overseeing clinical operations across the entire Northwestern Medicine network, and shaping the future of neuroendovascular care - partnering closely with neurology colleagues and working across departments to deepen multidisciplinary collaboration. You'll also play a central role in advancing resident and fellow training, helping develop the next generation of neurovascular specialists.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Board certification in neurology, neurosurgery, or radiology, with fellowship training in neuroendovascular medicine
  • Subspecialty training and extensive clinical experience managing complex neurovascular disease
  • A track record of leadership or operational experience within a large, complex health system. The system is supported by a centralized telestroke program that provides 24/7 vascular neurology expertise across regional hospitals, enabling rapid stroke evaluation, evidence-based treatment, and timely triage of acute stroke patients.
  • Experience in expanding referral networks, outreach, and access to advanced neurovascular care
  • Demonstrated excellence in patient care, research, and education
  • National or international recognition in the field

The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $561,874 - $834,651.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
