Animator

Welcome to the world of land-based gaming. At Light & Wonder, it's all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.

The Animator will be responsible for bringing our games to life by creating eye-catching visual effects and animations for slot machines. Work with a group of exceptionally talented artists and animators creating animations that complement and enhance the slot player's experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Create art/animation that tells a story with meaning through movement
• Works closely with the Art Director and the team to conceptualize, storyboard, prototype and ultimately create high-quality final game art/animations in a timely and efficient manner
• Provides creative solutions to artistic and technical problems
• Supports engineering development by updating and modifying artwork to meet technical requirements
• Create and animate unique emotive characters and immersive worlds
• Communicate game direction through storyboards and animatics
• Work quickly and efficiently as part of a team, take direction, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is crucial.
• All other duties as assigned

Training and/or Experience

• 2+ years of professional experience in 2D/3D animation and/or motion graphic design
• Gaming industry experience is preferred but not required

Required:

• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Photoshop
• Strong understanding of motion graphics, animation principles, timing, composition, and visual storytelling
• Experience creating 2D animations, transitions, and visual effects.
• Ability to storyboard and translate creative concepts into polished animations
• Ability to take creative direction, incorporate feedback, and collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and AI-assisted creative workflows

Preferred:

• Experience with 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, or 3ds Max
• Character animation experience
• Experience with compositing and rotoscoping
• Familiarity with Unity
• Familiarity with shaders and shader creation
• Previous experience in gaming, interactive entertainment, or similar creative environments

Education:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
