Job Description

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Administrator provides day-to-day administrative support for all Human Resources functions within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting recruitment and onboarding activities, benefits administration, employee records management, payroll support, compliance documentation, and various HR programs. The HR Administrator serves as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR processes and policies while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. The position works closely with Payroll, Operations, Safety, and leadership teams to support workforce needs in a manufacturing setting.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned. Employees are required to follow all company safety policies and procedures and perform all duties in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Post and manage job requisitions through ATS and external recruiting platforms.
  • Review applications and conduct initial candidate pre-screening interviews.
  • Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Prepare and extend employment offers.
  • Conduct candidate follow-up and maintain communication throughout the recruiting process.
  • Support hiring managers with applicant tracking and recruiting metrics.
  • Maintain recruiting records and ensure compliance with applicable employment laws.

Onboarding & Employee Administration

  • May conduct new hire orientation and supports with onboarding activities.
  • Prepare new hire packets and maintain onboarding materials.
  • Coordinate employee badge creation and facility access requests.
  • Process personnel transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and electronic records.
  • Ensure compliance with document retention requirements and company procedures.
  • Respond to employment verification requests.

Benefits Administration

  • Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit programs.
  • Process benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefit terminations.
  • Act as liaison between employees and benefit providers.
  • Coordinate annual Open Enrollment activities.
  • Reconcile benefit invoices and ensure timely processing of benefit-related billing.
  • Assist employees with benefits questions and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate COBRA administration and benefit continuation processes.
  • Support 401(k) plan administration and employee participation activities.

HRIS, Payroll & Data Management

  • Maintain employee records within Workday, ADP, and other HR systems.
  • Partner with Payroll to review and validate employee timekeeping and payroll information.
  • Process employee changes impacting payroll and benefits.
  • Supports with entry of employee attendance, vacation, leave, and other employment records.

Compliance & Employee Lifecycle Administration

  • Administer termination processes and prepare all required separation documentation.
  • Ensure SOX-compliant processing and documentation of employee status changes and terminations.
  • Support HR compliance activities related to federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information and sensitive company records.
  • Support audits and provide documentation as required.
  • Assist with employee leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, disability, and related programs.

Employee Engagement & Department Support

  • Assist in coordinating employee meetings, recognition programs, training events, and company functions.
  • Coordinate catering and logistics for employee events and training activities.
  • Support employee communications and HR initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and available programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of California employment law, Wage & Hour regulations, and HR best practices.
  • Understanding of benefits administration, leave management, and employee recordkeeping requirements.
  • Familiarity with COBRA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, OSHA, and related regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer service and employee relations skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Workday, ADP, or similar HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using Workday, ADP Workforce Now, or similar HRIS systems.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Strong data entry and reporting capabilities.
  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly.

Experience & Education

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of Human Resources administrative or coordinator experience.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, industrial, or other high-volume hourly workforce environment.
  • Experience supporting employee populations of 200+ employees preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21.00 to $32.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
