Primary Function: The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling, communicating, and coordinating daily production operations for the pourline, cutting, slitting, and fabrication processes. This role establishes priorities and production sequences, issues production orders, and supports plant and customer expectations. The Production Planner also supports two-way communication through department meetings and teamwork processes.

Essential Requirements:



  • Must support management and company objectives.
  • Must understand and enforce consistent compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts as they occur while keeping management and HR informed.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with all individuals.
  • Must attend operational, accountability, inventory, and other meetings as required.
  • Must work closely with the Pourline, Scheduling, and Production teams.
  • Must create and sequence production orders in a timely manner to support upstream production plans.
  • Must analyze and propose ideal run quantities for mattresses based on pour heights and slab thicknesses to support efficient production as well as minimize scrap of leftover components.
  • Must analyze cutting-line data and communicate unusual measurements or trends to the Pourline team.
  • Must be able to identify and help resolve production bottlenecks, shift delays, and/or material shortages quickly.
  • Must evaluate and develop a plan to use or disposition old material, as well as track FIFO operations in the fabrication department.
  • Must be able to serve as backup to the Production Planning & Control Manager for master scheduling, as well as backup to the Materials Analyst for inventory, new material setups, and bill of material setups.
  • Must follow all QCPs and SOPs.
  • Must lead and support 5S and continuous improvement activities.
  • Must manage long bun and short bun inventory levels to achieve safe and efficient operation of areas while maintaining adequate inventory space for receipt of daily pours.



Qualifications:



  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in SAP (or another ERP system) and Microsoft Windows programs, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, preferred. Strong Excel skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Strong time management, while working independently
  • Analytical mindset required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
