Position Summary

Position Summary

The Machine Operator Ill role is responsible for advanced machine operation, troubleshooting, complete day by hour, first piece inspection, and scrap documentation. Advanced changeovers requiring multiple machine setups/tools. Read production orders to verify quality standards for quantities and labeling and perform preventive maintenance on equipment. Perform First Piece Inspection and other quality duties as needed. Operate power industrial trucks as needed and complete scrap paperwork.

  • Alert Supervisor and maintenance personnel of any problems that may arise.

  • Make machine adjustments as necessary to produce products that meet company specifications.

  • Order raw materials to the line as needed.

  • Make sure all materials are loaded into the machine in a quick, efficient manner so that downtime is limited.

  • Count and record rejected products and scrap material.

  • Keep work area clean, free from debris and compliant with 5S markings.

  • Clean machine and work area at the end of each shift.

  • Ensure that all personnel are following plant safety guidelines.

  • Complete production reports.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:


  • May be required to lift up to approximately 40 pounds

  • Must be able to stand at work station for a long period of time

  • Must be able to use both hands in a repetitive motion

  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes and dust particles

  • Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions



Education and Experience Requirements



  • HS Degree or GED

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience (at least 2 years machine operator experience)

  • Basic computer skills

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to communicate in English

  • Must be able to pass a tape measure test

  • Must be able to pass a machine aptitude test
