Overview

In this position, you will be the welcoming face and the organizational backbone, ensuring seamless patient registration and contributing directly to the efficiency and positive experience of every patient. Your meticulous attention to detail and empathetic approach will directly impact patient satisfaction and the smooth operation of critical healthcare services. To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Not require sponsorship of any kind for the duration of the assignment
- Be able to work on a W-2 basis. C2C or 1099 is not permitted for this position
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete patient admission and registration process, adhering to all regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Accurately obtain and document patient demographic and insurance information, including eligibility verification using online systems.
- Collect required patient signatures on all necessary legal and administrative documents.
- Process patient co-payments, deductibles, and deposits.
- Scan all relevant documentation into the electronic document management system before the end of each shift.
- Maintain the security of patient valuables according to departmental policy.
- Prioritize tasks effectively during high-volume periods to enhance customer service, operational efficiency, and financial benefits.
- Foster strong cooperative relationships with clinical and administrative staff, providing necessary patient-related materials (e.g., plates, wristbands, facesheets) in a timely manner.
- Update patient notifications and crossovers promptly based on clinical staff input.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment, offering and seeking assistance as needed, and performing high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Deliver sensitive, timely, and appropriate customer service across all patient-facing areas, including obtaining authorization for patient visitors from clinical staff.
- Distribute privacy practice notices in compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policy.
- Maintain a sensitive, solution-oriented, and professional demeanor at all times.
- Actively participate in department meetings, workshops, and in-services.
- Cultivate collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as clinical teams, emergency services, and law enforcement.
- Utilize energy positively to manage stress, complete tasks, and contribute to a positive working environment.
- Ensure office equipment is in working order and be familiar with downtime procedures and workaround solutions.
- Perform other assigned duties to support departmental operations.
Must-Have Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- Proficiency in typing at least 30 words per minute.
- Ability to effectively utilize multiple computer programs simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Self-motivated with proven ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work at both stationary and mobile workstations, including sitting and standing.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff in a highly sensitive and demanding environment.
- Flexible availability to accommodate training and work schedule requirements.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Associate's degree (AA).
- Proficiency in a second language.
