Supply Chain Intern (Summer 2027)
This position is responsible for assisting the Supply Chain Department with Sourcing, RFQ's generation, Purchase Order placement, and Supplier Performance measurement. Projects may also include activities related to ERP readiness, costed Bill of Materials and business process improvement.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Current Student with coursework in Supply Chain Management
- Strong analytical skills
- Verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, etc.
- MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
- A commitment to continuous improvement
- Must be a US Citizen
Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities:
- Generate costed Bill of Materials to support proposals
- Gather and analyze supplier spend data for insightful trends and business opportunities
- Learn material and data flow within the sourcing, purchasing and production processes
- Work closely with professionals to map internal business processes and document procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Analyze and help cleanse Supplier Master data and maintain in support of ERP
- Solicit quotes from suppliers and place orders for a wide variety of services and commodities in support of production and facility
- Generate monthly supplier performance metric reports
- Interact cross-functionally with accounting, engineering, quality, and operations
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures
- Communicating project and/or material status
Work Environment:
- This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required)
- Travel is not expected for this position
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch, and move about the facility
- The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds
This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location.
Pay Rate: $18 - $24/hr
