In the role of Agribusiness Control Systems Lead, you will:

Lead Strategic Growth:

  • Drive HDR's market share and revenue growth across the Agribusiness market sector
  • Grow HDR's book of business and develop new client relationships in the Agribusiness market sector, with an emphasis on the food and beverage and dairy industries.
  • Meet with clients to build and maintain relationships, visit plant locations to understand client controls & automation system needs
  • Serve as a Client Manager (for assigned accounts), which includes maintaining strong client relationships and a deep understanding of the client's organization, trends/drivers, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Attend industry conferences
  • Actively participate in professional associations to elevate HDR's brand in target markets
  • Articulate HDR's capabilities and competitive advantages
  • Conduct market research
  • Meet with HDR personnel including Control Systems staff and Industrial leadership to learn about our capabilities and client relationships, and also educate our teams on Agribusiness Controls & Automation Systems and opportunities
  • Achieve regional or sector sales goals

Lead Pursuits and Proposals:

  • Lead major pursuits and campaigns, develop winning strategies, and guide proposal efforts that reflect deep client insight
  • Lead proposal development, developing scope and fee estimates
  • Attend Go No Go's - and prepare the required information for the GNG's

Provide Technical Oversight and Management of Control System Projects:

  • Interface with and utilize Controls & Automation resources in the BES group and Resources Industrial group to staff and execute projects.
  • Ensure the right talent and expertise are matched to the client and project specific needs
  • Provide technical advisory support for electrical engineering & I&C efforts across all BC 122 projects (Pipelines, Terminals, and Facilities Engineering)
  • Provide oversight of sub-contracted E-I&C services on Industrial projects
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert for Control Systems work across the Agribusiness Practice.
  • Serve as Task Manager for Control Systems work across the Industrial Sector

Mentor and Train:

  • Support the maturation of controls engineering and programming skills across teams.
  • Train and mentor employees on the unique requirements of controls engineering and programming in the agribusiness market sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Maintain a professional or engineering registration or certificate, or have related technical experience
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience in controls engineering, programming, and I&C projects
  • Demonstrated "self-starter" with a history of completing projects with limited oversight
  • Ability to oversee and manage a team of engineers and programmers to successfully complete a project on time and on budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire others
  • Deep knowledge of the A/E/C industry's standard approach to procurement of professional services
  • Demonstrated ability to build a network of clients and industry partners
  • Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies
  • Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in-person

Required Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in process control system programming * Supervisory Controls and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Operator Interface Terminals (OIT's), Industrial communication networks set up and testing and assistance in start-up and commissioning.
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of employee-owned culture.
