Description

The Laboratory Technician will work under the direction of a technical staff member in Texas Analytical group within the Texas Technology Department.



Analytical Technicians are expected to develop hands-on expertise and a deep technical understanding of a wide range of laboratory instrumentation and analytical equipment. A strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement is essential. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who works effectively with minimal supervision, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and takes initiative to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues on projects utilizing a variety of analytical techniques
  • Support the evaluation, implementation, and continuous improvement of analytical technologies for commercial products and laboratory processes
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Accurately document experimental work, prepare technical reports, test methods, summaries and other scientific literature
  • Lead and actively participate on cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams
  • Support quality systems and prepare documentation and reports for internal and external regulatory agencies
  • Perform all work safely while promoting a strong culture of safety and compliance

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess minimum of (AA/AAS) in Chemistry or a Bachelor's degree in a physical science.
  • B.S. in Chemistry is preferred.
  • Formal training in standard laboratory practices and procedures is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, mathematical, and scientific skills, including familiarity with basic statistical methods.
  • Demonstrated initiative, a positive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and general computer skills.
