Job Summary

The Class B CDLDriver is responsible for safely operating a 25-foot automatic box truck to deliver materials to customer locations while providing excellent customer service. This position consists of approximately 95% driving and 5% warehouse support, including occasional housekeeping and general warehouse assistance. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and committed to timely deliveries while complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a 25-foot automatic box truck to deliver materials, including pipe, valves, fittings, and related products.
• Complete deliveries according to assigned schedules and delivery routes.
• Verify delivery locations and ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
• Load, unload, or assist with unloading materials as required.
• Ensure all materials are properly secured and comply with weight regulations.
• Obtain customer signatures on delivery documentation and verify delivery accuracy.
• Communicate with supervisors regarding delivery status and operational updates.
• Pick up customer returns and local purchase orders as assigned.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Fuel vehicles as needed and promptly report maintenance issues, accidents, moving violations, or equipment defects.
• Return completed delivery documentation to the warehouse.
• Assist with general warehouse duties, including housekeeping and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Provide professional customer service during all customer interactions.
• Follow all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Support warehouse and branch operations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Work overtime as required.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating Class B commercial vehicles.
• Must have held a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for at least one (1) year.
• Previous delivery driving experience required.
• Six (6) months of sit-down forklift experience preferred.
• Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must maintain the required state-issued non-excepted interstate self-certification and provide proof.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with the assistance of a hand truck.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safe driving practices.
• Must be comfortable operating a vehicle equipped with driver and vehicle monitoring cameras.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
