Waste Pro is seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Trainer to join our Waste Industry Technical Training team. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality technical training to Vehicle and Equipment maintenance personnel, technicians, supervisors, and other team members throughout the organization.

The Technical Trainer will provide both classroom instruction and hands-on training focused on the safe, efficient, and consistent maintenance and repair of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to teach technicians with varying levels of experience while reinforcing company standards and The Waste Pro Way.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




  • Deliver classroom and hands-on technical training to maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct training in areas including preventive maintenance, air brake systems, DOT brake inspections, electrical systems, diagnostics, and other heavy-duty vehicle systems.
  • Demonstrate proper inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
  • Reinforce company safety policies, procedures, and standardized maintenance practices.
  • Evaluate technician knowledge and hands-on performance through testing and practical assessments.
  • Provide coaching and constructive feedback to help technicians improve their skills.
  • Assist with the development and continuous improvement of technical training materials and programs.
  • Maintain accurate training, attendance, testing, and certification records.
  • Ensure training areas, tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained in a safe and professional condition.
  • Work closely with maintenance leadership to identify training needs and areas for improvement.
  • Represent the Technical Training Department professionally while promoting a positive learning environment.



OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsored training courses as assigned.
  • Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.



QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Strong mechanical knowledge of Class 8 trucks and mounted equipment systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, air brake systems, electrical systems, diagnostics, Hydraulics, ADAS, AC and general heavy-duty truck repair.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
  • Travel up to 50% as required to conduct training at company locations.
  • Previous coaching/teaching or training experience is required.
  • Waste industry experience is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain 7 Medium duty ASE Certifications within 6 - 9 months required
  • Bilingual with the ability to teach and train in English and Spanish is preferred.

* Physically able to frequently (20-30 times) bend at the knees and waist
* Physically able to frequently (20-300 times) reach over your head or reach out with extended arms to perform work
* Physically able to frequently (100-200 times) twist at the waist to perform work
* Physically able to work/Train in extreme temperatures and weather environments

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Shop environment including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust and fumes.
  • Inside facility, outside environment exposed to weather and vibrations from trucks and maintenance facility.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
