Job Description

The International Programs front office associate serves as the primary point of contact for students, scholars, faculty, staff, visitors, and community members engaging with the International Center. This position provides exceptional customer service, manages front office operations, supports passport services, coordinates facility and meeting space readiness, and assists with administrative and event-related functions that support the mission of the University of Missouri International Center.

This role requires a high degree of professionalism, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The incumbent represents International Programs and serves as a key resource for customers seeking information regarding study abroad, international student and scholar services, passport services, and other departmental programs.

Key job responsibilities include:

* Serve as the primary front office representative for the International Center, providing exceptional customer service and serving as the first point of contact for students, scholars, faculty, staff, visitors, and community members.
* Open and close the office; perform key holder duties and maintain a professional, welcoming reception environment.
* Answer, screen, and route telephone calls; respond to inquiries and connect customers with appropriate resources and services.
* Provide administrative support by maintaining calendars, shared spaces, office records, forms, supplies, mail distribution, and departmental communications.
* Coordinate and manage the scheduling and readiness of conference rooms, hoteling spaces, passport services, and other shared office facilities.
* Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and operational readiness of reception, meeting, hospitality, and common areas.
* Assist with departmental events, meetings, international delegations, and visitor hosting activities.
* Maintain awareness of departmental programs, services, events, and resources to provide accurate information and referrals.
* Serve as a trained U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent, assisting applicants with passport services, appointments, documentation requirements, and mail processing.
* Utilize university technology and software systems, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and departmental applications, to support daily operations.
* Collaborate with staff across International Center functional areas to ensure effective communication, customer service, and operational support.
* Participate in staff meetings, committees, training, professional development, and onboarding of new employees as assigned.
* Support emergency preparedness efforts by serving as a designated Zone Monitor and participating in drills and emergency response activities.
* Assist with special projects, student support initiatives, cultural programming, campus events, and other duties as assigned.
* Adhere to University policies, departmental procedures, and professional standards while fostering a welcoming environment that supports global engagement and intercultural understanding.

Shift

Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 - 5:00

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $15.05 - $16.20 per hour

Grade: GGS 005
