Job Summary
Responsible for protecting an organization's system against advanced persistent cyber threats. This includes developing and implementing secure network solutions, carrying out assessments and penetration testing, managing audit/intrusion and security technology systems, architecting, and engineering/developing trusted systems into secure systems.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Assist in Security Monitoring and Incident Response: Monitor security alerts and assist in the investigation and response to security incidents, including malware infections, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access attempts.
- Vulnerability Management: Support vulnerability scanning activities using DoD approved ACAS/Nessus scanner and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Assist in the identification, prioritization, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across our systems and networks.
- Security Awareness Training: Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs for employees to promote a culture of cybersecurity awareness within the organization.
- Security Policy and Procedure Review: Participate in the review and update of security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance in accordance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) publications.
- Security Tool Evaluation: Assist in evaluating new security tools and technologies to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities, including antivirus software, intrusion detection systems, security information and event management (SIEM) solutions.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts. Prepare reports and presentations summarizing cybersecurity metrics and findings for management review.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct research on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to stay abreast of the evolving threat landscape and recommend proactive measures to mitigate risks.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in cyber security, Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- 5 years experience in Cyber Security related field.
- Security+ or CISSP Certification
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity with basic knowledge of networking, operating systems, and security principles.
- Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools and technologies is a plus (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
