ABOUT THE ROLE

The Quality Control Manager oversees all quality assurance and control activities within the plant, ensuring products meet company standards and customer specifications. This role supervises internal inspectors and external agencies, manages testing and documentation, and drives continuous improvement in product quality and production processes.

Salary range $89,500-$115,000/Year. Based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Supervise plant inspectors, testing technicians, and third-party inspection agencies
  • Conduct and oversee raw material testing and concrete mix design development
  • Perform pre- and post-pour inspections of forms and finished products
  • Ensure compliance with Precast and PCI quality standards and manuals
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing, inspections, and quality data
  • Monitor quality metrics, analyze trends, and report issues to management
  • Coordinate with production teams to improve product quality and efficiency
  • Oversee batch plant quality processes, including moisture probes and reporting
  • Verify product finishes, dimensions, and strength requirements prior to shipment
  • Communicate with Engineering to resolve drawing or specification issues
  • Maintain lab equipment, including calibration and preventative maintenance
  • Develop and deliver training programs for quality control personnel


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented quality leader with strong experience in concrete or precast manufacturing environments. They are analytical, process-driven, and confident in identifying and resolving quality issues related to materials, production, and finished products. This individual is an effective communicator who can collaborate across departments, lead teams, and implement systems that improve consistency, compliance, and overall product quality.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE



  • 5+ years of experience in precast/prestressed concrete, batching, or quality control, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • PCI Level II certification preferred
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience (1-2 years minimum)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors (Depending on location)
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
