*Job Title: Loan Officer Assistant *
*Job Description* This role supports loan officers by guiding members through the mortgage loan application process from pre-application to post-application. You will collect, analyze, and review supporting documentation to ensure it meets loan guidelines, update loan systems accurately, and serve as a primary point of contact for members by phone and virtual channels. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline efficiently in a professional financial environment. *Responsibilities* * Assist loan officers in facilitating the completion of mortgage loan applications from pre-application through post-application stages. * Serve as a primary point of contact for members, responding promptly and professionally to inquiries and guiding them through the loan process. * Collect the minimum required documentation and information from members to support the approvability of the loan in line with loan guidelines. * Calculate member income accurately and analyze asset statements to verify financial qualifications. * Review and validate supporting loan documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established guidelines. * Update loan operating systems with current and accurate information throughout the life of each application. * Manage a personal pipeline of approximately 45-60 active loan applications, with the flexibility to handle increased volume during peak periods. * Monitor assignment notifications and maintain a personal queue of cases, using the loan officer's setup as a guide to complete required items in each application. * Conduct daily phone outreach to members, which will comprise approximately 50% of the role, to obtain documentation, clarify information, and move applications forward. * Engage with members through virtual channels for tasks that do not require phone contact, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication. * Collaborate closely with loan officers and other team members to resolve issues, share updates, and maintain a smooth loan process. * Maintain accurate personal logs and records of member interactions and loan status updates. * Demonstrate professionalism and strong customer service in every interaction, representing the organization positively. * Prioritize and multitask effectively to manage multiple applications and member requests simultaneously. * Adhere to internal processes, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to mortgage lending and financial documentation. *Essential Skills* * Experience in mortgage, real estate, or a financial institution is highly preferred. * If mortgage, real estate, or financial institution experience is not available, at least 3+ years of customer service and/or administrative experience in a professional office setting is required. * Demonstrated ability to provide strong customer service in a client-facing or member-facing role. * Proven multitasking skills with the ability to manage a high-volume workload and multiple priorities. * High level of professionalism in communication, demeanor, and work habits. * Strong attention to detail when collecting, reviewing, and entering loan documentation and data. * Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. * Experience in administrative support, banking, mortgage support, or loan processing environments. * Ability to perform income verification and review credit reports accurately. * Comfort with frequent phone-based communication, including outbound and inbound calls. * Ability to work effectively with loan operating systems and digital tools to manage applications and pipelines. *Additional Skills & Qualifications* * Previous experience in a mortgage support or mortgage processing role. * Customer service within banking, financial services, or real estate environments. * Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a structured personal queue and logs. * Comfort working with digital workflow tools and pipeline management systems. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with members and internal teams. * Ability to adapt to changing workloads and seasonal fluctuations in application volume. *Why Work Here?* You will join a professional, member-focused organization that values high-quality service and clear communication. The role follows a hybrid reporting model: for the first six months, you will work on site five days per week to receive training, support, and oversight. After the initial six months, on-site attendance typically reduces to two days per week, depending on performance and existing hybrid requirements. You will use loan operating systems, pipeline management tools such as Jetpack, and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, as part of your daily work. The environment is fast-paced and detail-oriented, with a steady volume of 45-60 active applications per person that may increase during busier times of the year. Professional attire and conduct are expected to align with a corporate office and member-facing financial setting. *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Leesburg, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
