Job Overview: The Applications Engineering Support role is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise to support customers, field service personnel, and internal teams throughout the lifecycle of installed equipment. This position serves as a key technical resource withing the aftermarket division, leading customer and technician training initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced technical support for installed equipment, systems, and processes.
- Analyze machine performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver technical training programs for customers, field service technicians, and internal personnel.
- Create and maintain training materials, technical documentation, operating procedures, and best-practice guides.
- Conduct on-site and virtual training sessions to ensure proper equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Perform machine audits, performance evaluations, and operational assessments at customer facilities.
- Analyze equipment condition and operating data to identify maintenance needs and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and recommend preventative maintenance schedules and service plans to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Support customers in implementing maintenance best practices and asset management strategies.
- Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally to support equipment installations, evaluations, repairs, and upgrades.
- Prepare detailed service reports and communicate outcomes to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Support aftermarket sales initiatives by identifying opportunities for service agreements, upgrades, spare parts, and additional support services.
Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in applications engineering, field service, technical support, machine design, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
- Experience supporting OEM machinery and equipment in customer production environments.
- Experience in delivering technical training and customer-facing presentations.
- Ability to travel approximately 30-50% of the time, including international travel.
- Ability to work in manufacturing and production environments.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
