*Job Overview*
The Manager, Receiving Team supports the store by driving sales, productivity, safety, and profitability across all receiving activities, ensuring execution of best practices, strengthening merchandising and sales partnerships, and developing and training the support team.
*What You Will Do*
*Sales*
* Lead, execute, and monitor inbound and outbound receiving processes to company standards, including dock security, inbound DC trailer processing, merchandise floor-readiness, direct-to-store shipments, supply and fixture deliveries, recycling, and backhaul trailers.
* Partner with merchandising, sales, and security leaders to ensure accurate, efficient, and safe receiving operations.
* Use tools and analyze data to forecast workload and allocate resources effectively.
* Process softline and hardline inventory accurately and on schedule.
* Coordinate merchandise and fixture deliveries with merchandising partners.
* Complete RTVs, salvages, and make-and-breaks within required timelines.
* Track and communicate productivity standards and results; identify improvement opportunities.
* Ensure team adherence to all procedures, policies, exposure standards, safety protocols, and shortage awareness practices.

* Model exceptional service and guide the support team to deliver a strong shopping experience.
* Coach, motivate, and develop associates to maximize performance and efficiency.
* Maintain high customer readiness standards, ensuring a clean and organized receiving area and stockroom.
* Communicate store and company objectives clearly so leaders and associates remain aligned and informed.

* Recruit, select, and train high-performing, results-oriented support associates.
* Address associate concerns fairly and consistently, aligned with company values.
* Manage performance proactively; resolve issues promptly and administer Responsibility-Based Performance as needed.
* Use the review process to support employee development, advancement, and succession planning.
* Support sustainability efforts by ensuring timely recycling backhauls and shipments.
* Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

*Skills You Will Need*
*Operational Execution:* Ability to lead and execute end-to-end receiving processes, ensuring compliance with company standards across inbound, outbound, and inventory workflows.
*Workload Planning & Resource Allocation:* Skill in forecasting volume, prioritizing tasks, and deploying resources to meet productivity and service goals.
*Process & Productivity Management:* Capability to monitor performance metrics, communicate standards, and drive continuous improvement in efficiency and throughput.
*Inventory & Accuracy Management:* Expertise in processing and managing softline and hardline inventory with precision, including exception handling (RTVs, salvage, make-and-break).
*Cross-Functional Partnership:* Ability to build strong relationships with merchandising, sales, and security teams to ensure aligned and effective operations.
*Safety & Compliance Leadership:* Commitment to enforcing safety protocols, shortage awareness, and operational policies to minimize risk and maintain compliance.
*Team Leadership & Development:* Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop associates to enhance performance, engagement, and capability.
*Communication & Influence:* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and influence stakeholders at all levels.
*Problem Solving & Decision Making:* Ability to anticipate issues, remove obstacles, and make timely, sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
*Organization & Time Management:* Strong prioritization and time management skills to balance competing demands and meet deadlines.
*Systems & Tools Proficiency:* Ability to leverage workload systems and operational tools to manage execution and track results effectively.

*Who You Are*
* Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply. 1-3 years of operations or merchandising retail management required.
* This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, remaining in a stationary position, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves remaining in a stationary position for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
* Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.
