Responsibilities

  • Audit and validate payroll data for accuracy, including timekeeping records and employee changes such as hires, terminations, transfers, and compensation updates.
  • Process payroll in rotation for 5,000+ employees across multiple locations and pay cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly), ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Manage payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (including W-2s), and reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain and audit payroll records, document and communicate processes, and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and Benefits to ensure data accuracy and resolve complex payroll inquiries related to pay, deductions, and garnishments.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and standardization across payroll operations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to payroll team members and support knowledge sharing across the organization.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience, with at least 1 year in a senior or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software, UKG preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential data with a high level of integrity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll preferred.
