Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY The Field Operations Manager - Blasting is responsible for leading and executing field operations associated with structural demolition and controlled blasting activities. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project plans, regulatory requirements, and company standards while supervising field crews and coordinating onsite resources. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Field Leadership & Oversight
- Manage and support multiple project sites and field personnel.
- Lead daily and weekly planning with Superintendents, Foremen, and Field Engineers.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project plans, specs, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, productivity, and compliance.
- Manage project-specific and annually required certifications and licenses based on project location, scope, and crew requirements.
Scheduling & Resource Management
- Support the coordination of labor, equipment, and materials across projects.
- Work with General Superintendent, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators to develop and maintain construction project schedules.
- Identify and mitigate potential delays and operational bottlenecks.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Maintain detailed inspection records, training records, compliance documentation, and enforcement
reports. - Evaluate field conditions and provide operational guidance to improve safety and
regulatory compliance. - Enforce all company and OSHA safety policies.
- Conduct site safety audits and participate in incident reviews.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure quality control procedures are followed.
Team Development & Communication
- Mentor Superintendents, Foremen, and crews.
- Facilitate effective communication between field teams, office staff, subcontractors, and clients.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of field staff.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Alongside the General Superintendent, monitor daily production, labor hours, and equipment utilization.
- Assist in managing project budgets and controlling field costs.
- Provide input on change orders, quantities, and daily progress reporting.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Education:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
Experience:
- 10+ years in blasting and deconstruction operations, with hands-on field experience.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of demolition methods, blasting techniques, and explosives handling
- Proven experience safely leading or executing complex blasting operations, including charge placement, detonation sequencing, and post-blast evaluation.
- Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of safety standards, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with construction management software(e.g., Procore, HeavyJob, HCSS) desired.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Certifications:
- Valid State Blasting License (or ability to obtain prior to project start); must be able to secure and maintain multiple state licenses as required for project work.

- Competent Person Training
OTHER:
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.
- The position requires 8 to 12+-hour workdays and occasional weekends, as needed.
- Requires travel throughout the United States (100%), greater than 80% of the time.

Strong vision, including near and far vision, depth perception, and the ability to read fine print on blueprints, contracts, and reports. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here represent those employees may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is exposed to environmental conditions, working near machines, and loud noises associated with construction sites. Exposed to variable weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, cold, and heat. Also exposed to variable terrain.Exposure to dust, dirt, loud noises, heavy machinery, and construction hazards. Requires ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed boots, and high-visibility vests for extended periods.
