| Position Summary |
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology,
UNC Horizons Program, seeks a Temporary Part-Time Senior Research Associate to provide specialized research and clinical support for grant-funded projects focused on substance use disorder treatment in perinatal populations. The incumbent will apply expertise in data management, research methodology, housing support navigation, and scientific writing to advance program evaluation and peer-reviewed dissemination activities. This is a time-limited, part-time appointment funded through existing grants and will conclude no later than February 28, 2027. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Master's or Bachelor's and 0-2 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution. |
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Doctoral degree (PhD) in public health, psychology, social work, sociology, health services research, or a closely related field.
* Minimum of two (2) years of professional research or clinical research experience at
UNC Horizons or a closely affiliated
UNC program, providing direct familiarity with program populations, protocols, and data systems.
* Demonstrated experience with REDCap or similar clinical research data platforms.
* Proficiency in statistical analysis software (
SAS,
SPSS, R, or Stata).
* Demonstrated experience with peer-reviewed scientific writing and publication.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including program participants, community landlords, and university staff. |
| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
* Prior experience administering clinical intake or follow-up assessments in a substance use disorder or behavioral health setting.
* Familiarity with housing instability, reentry, or perinatal
SUD research.
* Experience with
UNC administrative systems, including the vendor portal and REDCap |
