Schedule & Availability

Regular Student Schedule

  • MondayWednesday
  • 8:00 AM 2:00 PM

Flexibility Needed

  • Occasional availability until 4:30 PM may be required based on department needs.
  • At minimum, candidates must be available through 2:00 PM on scheduled workdays.

Work Location

  • This is a fully onsite position located at the Orion Building in Fort Myers.
Contact Center Environment

Our Contact Center is a high-volume, fast-paced environment that supports patients across the Lee Health system.

Successful interns will be comfortable:

  • Working in a professional office setting
  • Sitting for extended periods
  • Working in a cubicle-based environment
  • Using multiple computer applications simultaneously
  • Learning and meeting performance expectations

Performance metrics reviewed during the interview process include:
Schedule Adherence
Average Handle Time (AHT)
After Call Work (ACW)
Not Ready Time (NRT)
Quality Assurance (QA)

Training Commitment

Training is mandatory and cannot be modified.

Training Duration: 8 Weeks
Training Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

To be successful in this role, interns must be able to commit to the full training schedule. Consistent attendance is essential, as missed training days may delay completion and impact overall readiness.

The Student Intern will assist department with general office duties, work on department specific projects/events/communications based on field of study (HR, IT, Accounting, Marketing, et al). Additionally, the Student Intern shall assist and work with project teams and internal committees as determined and directed by the Department Manager. This role gives students an opportunity to experience, network and navigate within the dynamic healthcare industry while adding value to current teams and processes.

Requirements

Education:High School diploma or GED required. Pursuing a bachelors degree or have graduated from an accredited university within the last year.

Experience:Experience with complex related projects, either academic or professional preferred, Community/customer service focus. Motivated to embrace a culture of safety, quality, service, compassion, and teamwork. (Typically, 10 12 weeks full-time temporary assignment.)

License:N/A

Other:Strong communication, presentation, organizational, computer and analytical skills. Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively as a team member and ability to respond creatively to a rapidly changing environment required. Computer skills required.
