Join our dynamic Chromalloy team as the EHS Supervisor for our Chromalloy Connecticut facility and help support a strong safety culture across the site. In this supervisory role, you will provide day-to-day EHS guidance, coach employees and frontline leaders on safe work practices, and assist with the implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that promote safe behaviors and reduce hazards and unsafe conditions. Your hands-on leadership and attention to detail will help reinforce environmental, health, and safety excellence throughout the facility.



This is an on-site role in Windsor, CT. Core operating times are Monday-Friday with flexibility to respond during second and weekend shifts.



Responsibilities:



  • Support the implementation and ongoing compliance of the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management System, including assisting with gap assessments of site operations and identifying opportunities for safety and compliance improvement.
  • Facilitate, conduct, and advise on EHS training initiatives, including the development of effective training materials.
  • Assist with investigating high-risk actual/potential incidents and support the root cause and corrective action processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state and local EHS legal and regulatory requirements, as well as any company-specific standards that surpass regulatory mandates.
  • Support the site's environmental programs, including air permits, wastewater and stormwater permits, waste management, spill prevention/emergency response, regulatory reports, inspections, and related activities. Assist in ensuring permit conditions, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements are met.
  • Serve as a site-level resource for corporate EHS software systems, supporting incident and hazard reporting, compliance activities, tracking and reporting EHS performance metrics, and action tracking.
  • Partner with the Site Leader and EHS leadership to support annual EHS plans, objectives, and targets, and assist with monthly performance reporting.
  • Work closely with engineering and facilities to ensure that the safety of employees and the protection of company property are integral parts of the planning, designing and construction of facilities or modifications to facilities, equipment or processes.
  • Work with supervisors and department managers to support leadership safety walkthroughs, complete job/task risk assessments, and help develop solutions to minimize risk(s).
  • Provide support for medical and industrial hygiene programs, collaborating closely with Human Resources and Operations teams on pre-employment fitness for duty and return-to-work evaluations.
  • Support environmental sustainability baselining and improvement initiatives.
  • Support site security, emergency action plans, and business continuity planning activities.
  • Work closely with the risk management and external insurance firms to report and proactively identify and address worker's compensation and loss prevention issues, ensuring the implementation of recommendations from site assessments.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and coaching to a full-time EHS technician, supporting compliance with site EHS requirements, wastewater treatment plant operations, air emissions control equipment maintenance, and hazardous and regulated waste activities.
  • Coordinate the site's EHS Committee activities and promote a strong employee safety culture through Tier meeting engagement, Gemba walks, and employee events.
  • Coordinate with EHS consultants and contractors hired for specialized services such as industrial hygiene testing, fit testing, ventilation systems design/testing, sample collection, and other EHS-related activities; and support the site's contractor safety program.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
  • 5-8 years of demonstrated experience supporting EHS management systems, preferably in a manufacturing, specialty coating, or machining operation(s), with prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable EHS legal and regulatory requirements, with experience supporting compliance programs and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Connecticut specific regulatory experience preferred.
  • Self-driven team lead capable of working independently to research requirements and support compliance milestones, as well as collaboratively with other functions to promote accountability and process improvements.
  • Experience participating in incident investigations and supporting root cause analysis activities.
  • Strong grasp of computer-based tools and systems for use in writing, training, presenting, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of medical, industrial hygiene, and ergonomics programs.
  • Must be able to work full time at the Windsor, CT facility.

This position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.


The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions. We evaluate each candidate individually to ensure fair and competitive pay decisions.
