General Purpose:
Maintain daily functions of Wastewater Treatment Plant. Conduct required environmental tests, analysis and observations. Gather technical data and results for reports to be submitted to regulatory agencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions.
- Maintain chemical levels, adjustment to pH balance, and disinfection of water and other liquids.
- Perform testing on daily samples, interpret daily results for operational trends, and make informed adjustments based on daily data collection.
- Record operational data, meter and gauge readings on specified forms at specified frequencies.
- Advise WWTP manager regarding potential areas of concern and then implement appropriate changes.
- Maintain and repair WWTP equipment, general preventive maintenance, oil grease.
- Assist Maintenance Technicians with repairs and/or construction
- Dedicate effort to safety as we expect every employee to leave work in the same condition as they arrive.
- Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Adhere to all DFA Quality, Safety and GMP policies and procedures and report any nonconformity. Work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Attend required training, including but not limited to Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
- (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
- Responsible for pressing sludge as required
- Responsible of monitoring sludge dumpster levels, calling appropriate personal when an exchange is needed.
- Notify immediate supervisor and/or WWTP Manager for any complaints
- Communicate pertinent information at shift end to a shift supervisor

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- 4 years of related experience
- Certification and/or License preferred

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems, specifically SAP
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems
- Knowledge of general microbiology and chemistry
- Skill in making minor repairs to process equipment, piping, and motors
- Skill with light duty electrical power systems and instrumentation calibration
- Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Able to be proactive in seeking solutions
- Able to perform all required preventative, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance procedures
