Job Purpose

The position reports to the Manager, Data Governance. The Data Governance Analyst functions as a partner for the Data team working closely with IT, business, product and platform teams. The Data Governance Analyst will bring the capability of defining and maintaining new processes inclusive of end to end data requirements. This will include but not limited to process mapping, data mapping, strategy to manage data, risk and assumption identification, value case development, data change management and governance of data to ensure the reliability and safety of the National Grid's assets and customer information.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support day to day governance of National Grid's Gas data, this include but not limited to:
    • End to end review and triage of data impact on defect and improvement requests
    • Forum management
    • Deep dive analysis
    • Issue and risk management
    • Data privacy and security
  • Support business/operation work stream team, participating in Agile sprints during full product roadmap
  • Works with the Scrum team on sprint planning by helping define activities needed for current sprint to meet objectives (e.g., user interviews, experiments, pilots, etc.)
  • Construct business case, including value projections and detailed investment estimate; ensure these are aligned with product definition
  • Proactively identify riskiest assumptions and support product team in designing and executing experiments to increase confidence in business case assumptions
  • Define future-state operations solution (process, org change), including detailed current state-process and future-state process documentation
  • Provide support to product & technical workstreams (e.g., RFP support, stakeholder management, value alignment, IT governance, IT PMO)
  • Support preparation of materials for key stakeholder readouts (e.g., Digital Board meetings)
Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Process Improvement: Process mapping, establish the SIPOC, create and implement controls, and train the stakeholders on the process and the controls
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant business experience and working on digital product teams
  • Experience designing and refining value case (e.g., financial value to the business, strategic value, etc.)
  • Experience in defining, testing, and refining product assumptions
  • At least 2 years working with (or within) utility
  • Bachelor's degree in data science, technology, or engineering required

New England $98,000 - $115,000

Downstate, NY $102,000 - $123,000 a year
