Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility: Perform various functions in support of branch operations and assist clients with new accounts, consumer/small business lending applications, branch services and account transactions.

Essential Functions: With or without reasonable accommodation must be able to perform all essential job functions as described below.

  • Assist clients with account transactions and inquiries, wire transfer requests and related currency, including domestic/foreign currency exchange/sales orders, or account transactions.
  • Monitor, maintain custody of, and balance drawer cash and coin.
  • Complete required reports to document cash or negotiable instruments pursuant to regulatory requirements.
  • Update and close consumer checking/savings accounts and safe deposit boxes.
  • Assist clients with the completion of fraudulent activity dispute forms.
  • Review ATM deposits to identify potential risks. Initiate a hold or other appropriate action.
  • Initiate contact with business prospects provided by marketing to develop new client relationships. Partner with calling officers on outside business development activities.
  • Balance vault/recycler/ECD storage and order/ship cash.
  • Open, update and close corporation, LLC, non-profit, public and municipal deposit accounts.
  • Perform reviews and audits on high-risk processes and transactions, such as stop payments and check holds.
  • Assist clients with more complex loans, such as small business lending, to include loan application, income documentation, and signing and closing of the loan.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert on branch product and services. Assist with training and coaching.
  • Complete daily reports, Fiserv corrections, branch cash balancing, and transaction review. Assist with oversight of daily operations and new accounts tasks, including the review of over-limits.

Minimum Qualifications to Perform Essential Functions
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of and ability to accurately apply applicable federal/state banking regulations.
  • Knowledge of consumer banking products and services.
  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for client service and sales.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Ability to identify denominations and count currency.
  • Professional demeanor and speaking skills.
  • Good judgment, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional and service-oriented demeanor and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including internet browsers and Microsoft Office Suite products.

Experience and/or Education:

  • One year (within last five) of branch teller and/or new accounts experience.
  • Two years of recent experience opening business checking and trust accounts, preferred.
  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills, preferred.
