Position Title: Project Manager - VA.gov Design System and Forms Support Location: Remote (In the U.S.) / Hybrid (2-3 days per week) / Onsite (Sprezz HQ and/or VACO Washington DC) Other Considerations: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Required) POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a delivery-focused Project Manager to lead the VA.gov Design System and Forms Support effort under the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Digital Transformation Center (DTC) OMEGA contract. This role serves as the accountable owner for execution of the VA Design System and VA Forms Library, ensuring that both platforms evolve to meet the needs of Veteran-facing services while maintaining high standards of accessibility, usability, scalability, and consistency across VA.gov and the VA Health and Benefits mobile application. The Project Manager will lead cross-functional teams responsible for maintaining and expanding reusable design components, patterns, templates, and digital forms that support 50+ product teams across VA. This role is responsible for ensuring that delivery aligns with VA priorities, SOW-defined success indicators, and OMEGA contract requirements, while driving measurable improvements in:
- User experience consistency and accessibility
- Developer efficiency and platform adoption
- Reduction of defects, errors, and duplicate ("imposter") components
- Scalability of design and development through reusable assets
The ideal candidate brings strong program execution discipline, technical fluency, and stakeholder leadership, with the ability to operate effectively in a high-visibility, highly matrixed federal environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Program Delivery & Execution
- Serve as theaccountable delivery leadfor the VA Design System and Forms Support project

- Ensure all work aligns withVA-prioritized backlog, sprint plans, and delivery milestones

Design System & Forms Platform Oversight
- Oversee thegrowth, quality, and adoptionof the VA Design System and Forms Library
- Ensure delivery of:
- Reusable components, patterns, and templates
- Codified form patterns that reduce user errors
- Alignment of design, code, and documentation as a unified source of truth
- Reduce imposter components across VA.gov
- Improve consistency of user experience
- Expand support for mobile (React Native) components

Accessibility, Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all deliverables meet federal accessibility and compliance standards:

- Enforce adherence toVA design standards, governance processes, and digital service policies
- Ensure accessibility is embedded intodesign, development, and testing workflows
Operations & Sustainment Leadership
- Oversee sustainment of Design System and Forms Library assets, including:
- Componentlibraries (Figma, code, documentation)
- Digital forms and integrations
- VA Form Upload and related tools
- Ensuretimelyresolution of:
- User experience issues
- Accessibility defects
- Platform inconsistencies
- Drive quarterly delivery targets (e.g., resolving top UX/accessibility issues)
Infrastructure Improvement & Innovation
- Lead initiatives to improve platform usability and developer experience through:
- Survey analysis and feedback loops
- Design token adoption and standardization
- Shared content strategies and CMS integration
- SupportAI-enabled capabilitiesto improve efficiency, including:
- Automated testing
- Code refactoring
- Backlog reduction workflows

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA Public Trust
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Design, Human-Centered Design, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Project management experience supporting digital product delivery (preferably in federal or highly regulated environments)
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and coordinating work across design, engineering, product, and accessibility stakeholders
- Experience planning and tracking delivery using Agile practices (sprint planning, backlog grooming, demos, retros)
- Ability to translate SOW/contract requirements into execution plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes
- Strong stakeholder management and executive-ready status reporting (risks, issues, dependencies)
- Working knowledge of accessibility and compliance expectations (e.g., Section 508, WCAG)
- Technical fluency to partner effectively with engineers on delivery planning, estimation, and tradeoffs
Preferred Certifications
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), PMI-ACP, or similar Agile certification
- Accessibility-related certification or demonstrated accessibility training (nice to have)
WORKING CONDITIONS Standard business hours are Monday through Friday (list any particular schedule). Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs.
