At the Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. The Waste Projects and Operations (WP&O) construction team executes Davis Bacon work scope utilizing the Building Trades Unions. The Construction Manager provides overall leadership and direction for a multidisciplinary construction team charged with safely executing complex field activities involving mechanical, electrical, civil/structural, instrumentation, and remedial tasks. The Construction Manager ensures the highest standards of safety, compliance with regulations and requirements, cost-effectiveness, and operational excellence that align with CPCCo's mission to protect human health and the environment.

A day in the life of a Construction Manager includes, but is not limited to, the following:
*Provide supervision, mentorship, and performance management to direct reports within the WP&O construction team.
*Lead workforce planning for the WP&O construction team: participate in hiring, onboarding, and staff development, focused on cultivating a strong, skilled, and safety-conscious work team.
*Set construction team goals and expectations; regularly assess individual and team performance, offering feedback and recognizing achievements.
*Address labor relations, resolve personnel concerns, and foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
*Support development and implement execution strategies and priorities for multiple concurrent construction projects supporting WP&O waste projects.
*Oversee resource allocation (e.g., labor, equipment, subcontractors), anticipate project requirements, and proactively resolve workforce or logistics challenges.
*Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, safety, waste operations, regulatory, and procurement functions to ensure aligned, integrated project delivery.
*Reinforce organization-wide procedures, ensuring consistent application of best practices in work package development, field oversight, and operational risk management.
*Steer continuous improvement efforts: facilitate lessons-learned reviews, corrective learning actions, and improvement initiatives.
*Champion safety performance for all field activities, ensuring conformance with CPCCo, DOE, and regulatory policies. Participate in incident/near-miss reporting, investigation, and resolution.
*Provide proactive field oversight for performance of subcontractors and union craft personnel, supporting claims negotiation, contract adherence, and issue escalation as needed.
*Perform Responsible Manager duties for work package development, changes, and closeout while effectively delegating responsibilities.
*Regularly conduct field walkdowns and inspections to verify quality and compliance, while actively coaching and correcting as necessary.


Basic Qualifications


Manager Grade 22 - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 12 years of relevant experience


Desired Qualifications


*Senior-level construction management experience, managing large, multidisciplinary/union teams.
*Record of successful project delivery within highly regulated and hazardous environments.
*Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities; skilled at team-building in a multi-layered field organization.
*Proven proficiency in key stakeholder engagement and communications.
*Responsible Manager qualification
*Field Work Supervisor qualification
*Rad Worker II training, 40-hr Hazardous Waste Worker, and Board of Certified Professional Safety Training Supervisor (STS) certification.


Compensation & Benefits


In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.

Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours per week):

Grade 22: $137,150 - $240,000

In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay awards.
