The role falls within RTI International's Finance Business Partner and FP&A team within the CFO Organization. The CFO organization supports the execution of RTI's mission by ensuring financial stability, driving operational excellence and managing risk. What You'll Do

The role will be responsible for supporting forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and analytical activities with the goal of informing decision-making across the Institute. The role will develop and maintain models, reports, and executive-ready insights that translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations, while driving process improvements through standardization and automation. This position will be located in the Research Triangle Park, NC or may be a permanent telecommuter position within the US. This role reports to a Finance Manager.

Your primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Monitors and analyzes monthly financials
  • Delivers monthly reports and related routine and ad hoc financial analysis for management, ensuring high quality, timeliness, and accuracy; provides key business and strategic insights
  • Manages or creates financial models or decision-making tools
  • Supports the expansion, development, and standardization of FP&A's reporting
  • Supports strategic planning activities such as budgeting and forecasting
  • Participates in strategic business initiatives and supports the development of Executive or Board of Governors materials
  • Identifies and implements ways to improve data accuracy and timeliness using automation and AI
  • Leads and/or participates in special projects to improve or enhance financial management and operating efficiencies

What You'll Need

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant experience, Master's degree and 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (relevant experience includes: financial planning and analysis, financial modelling and decision support, management reporting, and budgeting and forecasting).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and should not require now, or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa sponsorship.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Prior FP&A experience preferred
  • Experience with Oracle preferred
  • Knowledge of government contracting preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to provide financial analyses and package into consumable format for senior level management and non-financial staff (e.g., storytelling / strong use of visuals and dashboards to articulate messages)
  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills with the ability to manage ambiguity into quality deliverables
  • Ability and experience leveraging AI/ML tools to enhance financial planning, forecasting, and decision support
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisor, technical staff and others
  • Ability to understand, present and convey financial information to non financial staff
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload, self-manage and complete tasks to best meet project needs
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to handle the stress associated in meeting frequent, multiple and tight deadlines
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
