DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position focuses on installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems to support safe and efficient operations at Fort Indiantown Gap. As a Plumber 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Fixture Repair: Install and repair bathroom and kitchen fixtures, including faucets, commodes, sinks, and showers
- Pipe Work: Cut, bend, thread, clean, and solder pipes and fittings as needed for maintenance tasks
- Material Preparation: Prepare material lists and ensure unused supplies are returned to warehouse stock
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools and equipment by performing cleaning, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Safety Practices: Apply plumbing trade safety procedures and follow all DMVA safety rules

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:
- You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Class E (Water) Certification
- Completion of formal training in the plumbing trade
- Previous experience as a plumber
- Previous experience in the operation, maintenance, or repair of water main breaks and the sanitizing of water mains due to main breaks
- Previous experience in the maintenance, repair, or replacement of underground water mains or sewage lines
- Previous experience in the installation or connection of service lines to water or sewage mains
- Previous experience working in hazardous conditions such as confined space, electrical currents, or chemical exposure
