As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, you will help keep park grounds, buildings, and facilities safe and inviting. This position will give you a great chance to build hands-on skills while supporting a beautiful and active park.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support daily park operations by carrying out a wide range of maintenance and grounds care tasks across the Presque Isle State Park complex. You will help ensure that buildings, landscapes, and equipment remain safe, clean, and functional for all visitors. As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties:
- General Maintenance: Handle routine repairs to buildings and facilities using basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing skills
- Equipment Care: Operate and assist in maintaining vehicles, tools, and mechanical equipment used throughout the park
- Grounds Work: Perform mowing, trimming, litter pickup, planting, seeding, and other tasks that support healthy and attractive outdoor areas
- Housekeeping Duties: Clean and supply restrooms, offices, and other buildings while completing simple repairs such as replacing bulbs or tightening fixtures
- Visitor Assistance: Provide helpful information to park visitors and support a safe, welcoming environment
- Record Keeping: Complete daily reports, mileage logs, fuel records, and related documentation

- This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.
- Typical work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Shifts and hours will vary including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Will work 5 of 7 days/37.5 hours per week.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
