| Job Description |
ECU Department of Joyner Library Services is currently seeking an Undergraduate Interlibrary Loan Assistant to assist the Interlibrary Loan department with processing physical and electronic library materials to share with
ECU students, staff, and faculty and partner libraries around the world.
Duties include:
- Opening and sorting the department's incoming packages from the US Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, etc.
- Preparing materials for patron use and packaging materials for shipping to other libraries.
- Pulling physical items from throughout the library's collections.
- Scanning books, journals, microfilm, and microfiche materials to create PDFs.
- Processing requests using ILLiad (a specialized interlibrary loan database software) and other library software, databases, and research tools.
- Locating articles and chapters from throughout the library's electronic holdings and saving copies to send to patrons/libraries in compliance with resource licenses and copyright guidance.
- Assisting with other department tasks, including checking shelves, invoicing, and organizing supplies.
Attention to detail is an absolute must. We prefer a regular schedule during 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Monday-Friday; no weekends, nights, or holidays are required.
