Job Overview

The Director, Divisional Beauty drives sales as the category expert in Cosmetics and Fragrances for assigned stores. They directly supervise a team of Account Coordinators. Their focus is on elevating the store experience through merchandising, training, collaborating, and influencing corporate, store, and vendor partners. They ensure consistent store execution by being a knowledgeable and strategic business partner, identifying opportunities, and ensuring successful implementation of all corporate and store strategies. They lead the execution of Beauty events to drive sales and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do



  • Provide clear, concise priorities, strategies, and direction to account coordinators and store teams.
  • Collaborate with corporate and store partners to ensure consistent execution based on national guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure local, store, and vendor execution aligns with national guidelines and standards.
  • Collaborate with Regional and Divisional Beauty Directors, Field Planning Principals, Central, and Store partners to support store growth.
  • Analyze business results (store, category, brand, product, etc.) to identify sales-driving opportunities.
  • Assess merchandise execution processes, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions for corrective action.
  • Encourage forward-thinking strategies and challenge the status quo as a change agent.
  • Partner with corporate and store teams on floor planning processes to support corporate strategies.
  • Lead and participate in event execution, including corporate, promotional, and vendor launch events. Lead local event strategy, planning, and execution, including post-event analysis.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and follow up on store visits and pre-season planning meetings.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with vendors, communicate priorities and needs effectively.
  • Evaluate competitive opportunities by visiting competitors and communicate findings to central and regional teams.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.


People, Selling, & Training:



  • Drive excellent service and selling by reinforcing a customer-centric culture among Account Coordinators and Beauty Advisors.
  • Partner with store management to recruit top talent and ensure timely job fillings.
  • Support the onboarding of new Divisional Beauty Directors, Store Executives, and Beauty Advisors.
  • Manage and develop Account Coordinators through guidance, coaching, and feedback, aligning priorities with vendor management.
  • Collaborate with corporate Merchandising and Education teams to understand and execute people, selling, and training strategies effectively.
  • Support vendor partnerships to organize relevant product training for store teams, focusing on improving selling techniques and aligning with Macy's corporate strategy.
  • Focus on clienteling using MyClient to enhance client relationships and drive sales.
  • Support store leaders in coaching and training colleagues, encompassing selling and product knowledge.
  • Recognize store team performance during visits, utilizing sales and client metrics reporting effectively.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.


Skills You Will Need

Sales Expertise: Proficiency in driving sales as a category expert in Cosmetics and Fragrances, with a focus on achieving targets and enhancing the store experience.

Leadership: Ability to directly supervise a team of Account Coordinators, providing clear direction, guidance, and support. Demonstrates excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at multiple levels within the organization.

Merchandising and Training: Skill in elevating the store experience through effective merchandising strategies and comprehensive training programs for store teams.

Collaboration and Influence: Capability to collaborate with corporate, store, and vendor partners to ensure consistent execution aligned with national guidelines and standards, while influencing stakeholders to achieve objectives.

Strategic Thinking: Proficiency in analyzing business results and identifying sales-driving opportunities, while implementing forward-thinking strategies to challenge the status quo. Ability to think creatively, strategically, and technically to develop innovative solutions and drive business growth effectively.

Event Execution: Experience in leading and participating in various types of events, including corporate, promotional, and vendor launch events, to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.

People, Selling, & Training Skills: Expertise in driving excellent service and selling, recruiting top talent, managing and developing teams, and supporting training initiatives to improve selling techniques and enhance client relationships.

Communication: Practices open and continuous communication, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner, and values keeping others informed.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a High School diploma or equivalent are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of direct experience.
  • This position requires heavy lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands. Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, lifting at least 30 lbs. stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. May involve reaching above eye level. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
