The Patient Placement RN works closely with physicians, other hospitals, clinics and numerous departments to ensure timely placement and transfer of patients to St. Patrick Hospital. This role is responsible for coordination of information to ensure a transfer that meets the patient's clinical needs. The person makes complex decisions based on information provided from providers, hospital policy and collaboration with multiple departments throughout the hospital. Provides superior customer service and service recovery, utilizing good judgment and independent thinking that meets or exceeds the expectations of patients, visitors, physicians and St Patrick staff. Performs all duties in a manner which promotes team concept. This position is key to the financial viability of St Patrick Hospital and highest levels of customer service and patient satisfaction. This position helps to coordinate access to services at St. Patrick Hospital. They interface with all departments of the hospital and contribute to the operational effectiveness of the hospital. This position is responsible for high level assessment and quick initiation of level of care decisions for patient's waiting for placement in an inpatient setting. Critical goal is to assure high quality, individualized, cost-effective patient placement. Ensures accurate admission status demonstrating initiative and effective decision making. The Patient Placement RN coordinates those functions associated with level of care determination / placement, and collaborates with other departmental staff diverting of patient to more appropriate level of care from ED, and assuring projected discharge occurs in a timely manner resulting in an available bed.

Required Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Upon hire: Montana Registered Nurse License
  • 2 years Experience in acute care setting.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing
  • 1 year Related position.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
