Harkcon in its support to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is seeking a highly qualified SharePoint Specialist to support enterprise data management, collaboration platforms, and mission-critical operations.

The SharePoint Configuration Specialist supports the Department of Energy (DOE), National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST) by configuring, maintaining, and optimizing SharePoint environments to enhance collaboration, records management, and operational efficiency.

This role focuses on platform configuration, administration, and business process enablement-not custom development-ensuring alignment with Performance Work Statement (PWS) requirements, federal compliance standards, and OST mission needs.

The specialist will work closely with program leadership, functional teams, and IT stakeholders to support enterprise SharePoint solutions, automate workflows, and maintain secure, compliant document management systems.

Key Responsibilities

SharePoint Configuration & Administration

  • Configure and maintain SharePoint Online sites, libraries, lists, and permissions in alignment with OST operational requirements
  • Manage site collections, metadata structures, content types, and document libraries
  • Ensure proper governance, version control, and lifecycle management of records
  • Customer framework knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and Java Script

Workflow Automation & Process Improvement

  • Configure and maintain workflows using SharePoint Online native tools, Microsoft Power Automate (Flow), and PowerApps
  • Translate business requirements into automated workflows to improve efficiency and compliance

Records & Document Management

  • Support Records Management requirements
  • Maintain structured repositories for contracts, Purchase Requests (PRs), invoices, travel documentation, and timekeeping records
  • Ensure compliance with DOE records retention policies and audit readiness standards

System Integration Support

  • Configure integrations between SharePoint and Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive) and CRM and ERP.
  • Support data visibility and reporting across systems

User Support & Training

  • Provide support for SharePoint users
  • Troubleshoot access, configuration, and workflow issues
  • Develop user guides, SOPs, and quick reference materials
  • Conduct end-user training sessions

Migration & Data Management

  • Support migration of legacy data into SharePoint Online
  • Ensure proper tagging, indexing, and metadata application
  • Validate data integrity and accessibility post-migration

Security & Compliance

  • Configure user permissions and access controls based on least privilege principles
  • Support audit readiness activities and documentation
  • Ensure alignment with DOE/NNSA cybersecurity and data governance policies

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Generate reports on site usage, workflow performance, and data integrity
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and user experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of experience with SharePoint Online configuration and administration
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 ecosystem and Power Automate/PowerApps
  • Experience with C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, CRM, ERP,
  • Experience in custom development master pages, page layouts and CSS to align with OST branding
  • Knowledge of records management principles, data governance, and compliance
  • Strong troubleshooting and user support skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DOE, NNSA, or similar federal agencies
  • Experience with records digitization initiatives and SharePoint repository design
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Experience with MS Planner
  • Understanding of integrations with financial or ERP-related systems

Work Environment

  • On-site role in Albuquerque, NM supporting OST operations
  • Collaborative, mission-driven federal environment
