Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Office of Student Services in the School of Communication and Information. This position reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Services.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Works closely with the Student Services staff team and academic program directors and faculty to create a welcome environment within the department.
- Works as the initial primary contact for students for the Student Services office.
- Manages the student services administrative transactions.
- Oversees the student services facility.
- Maintains office supplies.
- Receives and processes student records and documentation.
- Processes administrative documents and services such as academic transcripts, certifications, room reservations for special events, and procurement and expense transactions for student services.
- Communicates daily with students, faculty, and staff to answer questions via phone, in-person, and email regarding SC&I operations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in communication, education, psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of student services office administration, organization, coordination, and facilitation.

- Proficiency with office software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, online searching, email, and fluency with learning new software applications.
