Patients attend 2-3 times per week for 4-6 weeks, giving you the time and continuity to impact lives in a truly lasting way. Educate, motivate, and empower patients as they recover and thrive.

Schedule & Perks

  • Monday-Friday | 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM; occasional 6:45am-3:15pm shifts
  • No holidays - our department is closed
  • Some weekend inpatient shifts may be required
    • Maximum of 1 weekend every 8 weeks
  • $5,000 Sign on Bonus for full time offers

Responsibilities
  • Utilizes scientific principles to develop exercise prescriptions. Monitors client's response to exercise and adjusts treatment plan accordingly.
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal record of patient's care.
  • Delivers high quality care utilizing the nursing process while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills specific to the rehabilitation specialty in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • Utilizes holistic approach (considering biopsychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the individuals served.
  • Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within their scope of practice and holds them accountable for their involvement in the plan of care.
  • Utilizes critical thinking in developing nursing interventions while maintaining responsibility and accountability for the knowledge of conditions of assigned patients.
  • Assess and chooses teaching strategies appropriate to the patient's and their families' specific needs, culture, gender, readiness to learn, and level of comprehension.
  • Consults appropriate resources within the hospital to provide specialized education.
  • Demonstrates knowledge that patient and workplace safety is a priority by preventing errors, accidents and infections and reporting potential or actual concerns immediately.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

Experience:

  • Two years acute clinical experience required. One year in critical care or telemetry preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current RN licensure in good standing to practice as an RN in Iowa
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
