Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide technical support for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is a full-time position.



Responsibilities

    Design and deploy cloud architectures and services using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, with a focus on PaaS offerings across multiple cloud platforms.
  • Develop and implement multi-cloud strategies to leverage the strengths of various cloud providers and ensure interoperability and integration between services.
  • Deploy and manage Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution, optimizing for scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement advanced security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations across multi-cloud environments.
  • Design and implement automation solutions and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Ansible and Jenkins to streamline development and deployment processes.
  • Set up sophisticated monitoring solutions to track performance metrics and optimize cloud services for efficiency and reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and senior engineers, guiding them in best practices for cloud deployments and development.
  • Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends, driving innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevSecOps, security, and business stakeholders, to ensure successful deployment and operation of cloud services.


Qualifications

10+ years experience in systems engineering including at least 5 years in cloud-based technologies. Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Experience supporting Federal government programs. Must have specialized experience in the design, development, and analysis of moderate to highly complex software programs for computer-based systems. Experience with moderate to complex technical project consultation. Able to demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both stakeholders and technical staff. Able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as working with a team. Strong communication skills that can be adapted to both the technical and administrator level. Able to demonstrate strong attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office or MS365. Must be a US citizen.
