Quality Assurance Engineer 4

Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Quality Assurance Engineer 4 in Los Alamos, NM.

Guides the development, implementation, and evaluation of processes, procedures, and applications contributing to the overall objectives of maintaining an effective quality program.

Individuals at this level possess broad expertise or unique knowledge, using their skills to contribute to the development of objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.

• Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories
• Serve as a recognized expert in the field within the Laboratory
• Work on unusually significant, unique, or complex issues
• Provide highly creative solutions where analysis requires evaluation of intangible factors
• Impact the success of future concepts, products, or technologies

Erroneous decisions or recommendations at this level could result in failure to meet critical organizational objectives and significantly impact the organization's reputation.

• Establish formal networks and coordinate across groups and key decision-makers
• Maintain regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders
• Operate under consultative direction toward long-range objectives
• Take initiative on assignments, often self-directed
• Function with minimal supervision and high autonomy
• Exercise independent judgment in determining approaches and solutions
• Apply wide latitude in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria

• BS or MS degree in:
  • Engineering
  • Quality Assurance
  • Industrial Systems Engineering
  • Or a related field
• Minimum of 20 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Post-graduate coursework may be expected at this level
• Additional consideration may be given to professionally recognized training and certifications in related fields
