Position description

The University of California, San Diego, Department of Anesthesiology is committed to academic excellence among its faculty, staff, and students, and seeks to recruit Project Scientists and Research Scientists.

Key responsibilities:



  • Design, manage, and conduct experiments relevant to ongoing research projects.
  • Train, mentor, and teach students, postdoctoral scholars, and others in the research setting.
  • Lead and/or contribute innovative and significant efforts to assigned project(s).
  • Participate in and present research findings at scientific meetings.
  • Write and/or contribute to scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and publication.

Appointment level/rank will be based on background and experience.


Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Candidates must have a doctoral-level degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in Bioinformatics, a health-related discipline, or a closely related field.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates who are certified Epic Cosmos superusers and/or have experience as data architects or data scientists on the Epic Cosmos data platform are preferred.
